Happy Friday 10/20/23

Happy Friday! Any exciting weekend plans? We’re hosting a goodbye party for the Farmhouse. Is that a thing? I never know quite how to celebrate these big moments, and for a minute there we felt too busy to stop and celebrate at all, but when an 11-year-old family friend mentioned he wanted to come out and say goodbye to the house, a party felt like a must. So we’re celebrating with chili, cornbread, good company, and a final look at the house we love so much. It’s bittersweet but I can’t wait! Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Garrett and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary this week with a quick trip to Seattle. We searched high and low for a piece of carrot cake and ended up with one with pineapple in it, which felt a bit like blasphemy until I tried it. I’m a convert! Going to try this recipe soon.

Listened to this gem of a book this week (again!). I’m pretty sure no one writes snappy, hilarious, fun dialogue better than Julia Whelan. (amazon affiliate, indiebound)
