Happy Friday 11/29/19

Happy Friday! How was your Thanksgiving? Somehow we pulled off hosting 24 people at the Farmhouse, despite having a kitchen that’s not quite done. No, strike that. We didn’t just pull it off…the food was great, the company was great, and I haven’t laughed so hard in months! It was a total success. Goes to show you it’s not about the state of the house…it’s about the people.

Well okay, the house was pretty great, too 😉 I snapped this pic of our kitchen during Thanksgiving dinner prep (with our littlest cook).

More from the week…

Daniel’s “nearly gutted” kitchen remodel came in at $5k. And Holy Moly it’s so so good! (manhattannest)

Design troubleshooting: what to do when a space doesn’t “feel right” or turns out a little flat. This post is full of practical advice (including diagrams) that will help you figure out what’s not working in your space…SO helpful! (highlinehomes)

You’re spending your free time wrong - here’s what to do to be happier and more successful. “The most important currency in life isn’t money, it’s time… Building what Chopra calls “time affluence,” or structuring your day so that you have lots of free time, will increase your life satisfaction and well-being.” (cnbc)

A Victorian home tour in London with all the moody feels. It’s a good one! (thenordroom)

How to save $1,047 this Black Friday. I have such mixed emotions about this day. On the one hand, rampant consumerism is bad for the planet and bad for our wallets. But on the other hand, if you plan large purchases to coincide with today’s sales, you really can save money. (becoming minimalist)

This daily habit is one secret to a longer, healthier life. Hint: it’s not kale. (camillestyles)

Sarah’s budget-friendly laundry room makeover had my jaw on the floor. What a beautiful room, especially considering the $500 budget! (roomfortuesday)

32 people weigh in on how to overcome SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Getting through these short, dark days can be hard. At least for me…you too? (witanddelight)

This little holiday scene has me totally inspired to decorate for the holidays! (@allsortsof)

I put together a holiday playlist and it’s giving me all the feels. You can listen at this link or below. Hope you enjoy this one! (spotify)
