Happy Friday 4/24/20

Happy Friday! Goodness, another week at home. How are you? We’ve been working on the coop and in the garden and doing our best with distance learning.

This week our 4-year-old informed us that it was his stuffed dragon, Grasshopper’s first birthday and requested we celebrate. Who can say no to that (even if Nana did just finish crocheting Grasshopper last week 😉)?! So we whipped up pizza, pulled out some juice boxes, and baked a carrot cake topped with a dandelion crown to suit Grasshopper’s ‘vegetables and weeds’ diet. We all had fun and it was nice to do something silly for a change!

I tried this recipe for the carrot cake (it was good on day one and great on day two). Highly recommend roasted pecans on top.

More from the week…
