Happy Friday 8/9/19

Happy Friday! How was your week? We got home from our 3-week road trip and it feels good to be back! Traveling 4,000 miles around the country with our kiddos was exciting (and exhausting and fulfilling and fun), but coming home to the Farmhouse was pretty exciting, too. During the last few days of driving, I kept dreaming a little dream and it looked like this:

Did you catch the new piece of art on my nightstand? It’s a letterpress print by Bethany Cochran and I’m smitten! Bethany and I recently connected on Instagram (which really means I fell hard for her work) and she sent me this stunner. There’s something really cheeky about nude art in a bedroom, don’t you think (see what I did there?)?!

More from the week…

Kids on leashes. What are your thoughts? (slate)

Waste not, want not. “America is one of the wealthiest nations in the history of the world. It doesn’t seem like 85% of us should feel stressed about money or that 78% of us should be living paycheck to paycheck.” Is it because we’re wasting money on things we don’t need to buy? An interesting read. (becoming minimalist)

A really cool dining nook. I love when spaces are sentimental and feel rooted to their location. A table made of a fallen tree is exactly that! (yellow brick home)

Quit your terrible job. Just putting it out there. (nytimes) Related: The upside of quitting - one of my favorite podcast episodes of all time. (Freakonomics)

Best words I read all week. (@thefauxmartha)

A beautiful office makeover by Brett and Kara. Paint really can work miracles! (domino)

We were named one of Spruce’s top 16 home renovation IG accounts for 2019! Feeling pretty honored to be included in this amazing list of folks. (the spruce)

Have a great weekend!
