Garrett and I went to a scratch-and-dent sale last week at the Albert Lee warehouse in Seattle. We left with a whole house worth of discounted appliances. It was our first purchase (and probably the biggest) for our upcoming kitchen renovation. And we LOVE what we got!
Read MoreI always love beautiful white bedding. It’s classic, inviting, and (to appease the mother in me) easily washed. But with Spring in the air, one sometimes wants a little more in the bedroom. More color. More pattern. More life. So we teamed up with The Company Store to transform a classic white bed into one that’s patterned, colorful, and fresh for Spring. Read on for our favorite tips for adding color and pattern to your own bedroom.

Read MoreIn all the hub-bub around selling the Ravenna House last summer, we never got around to giving the house a proper goodbye. Homes are such an important part of our lives - like a member of the family in many ways - and we wanted to tell this old gal’s story and let her just…show off a bit.
Read MoreThe IKEA LENDA curtains in our master bedroom are almost 2 years old now, and over the years we’ve gotten quite a few questions about them. Do we like them? Read MoreHappy Friday! How was your week? We’ve been recovering from a winter bug around here that knocked us down like dominos. First our kindergartener, then the 3-year-old, and on down the list until every last one of us was on the couch. Oh winter, why do you treat us so? But that wasn’t exactly a surprise to us because we had Redfin - a Seattle-based real estate innovator - by our side. In the past 6 years, we've bought 3 homes, sold 1, and toured countless more with Redfin. It can be hard as a reader to see behind the scenes and there were a lot of questions about Redfin and why we chose them for our Ravenna House listing. So today we're going to address that. As well as share a few insights into our success in real estate…
Read MoreEver since I started dreaming about the Farmhouse kitchen renovation (as in the the day we moved in 😉), I’ve imagined a neutral cabinet color. Something light but off-white and with a hint of color to it. But finding that perfect neutral color for a kitchen can be so hard.
Read MoreHappy Friday! Ooooo what a week it’s been. Not only did we get to celebrate Valentines Day (which is totally a made-up Hallmark holiday, but I kinda love it anyway 😉), but we had the biggest snowstorm we’ve seen in years. There’s a solid foot of snow at our farmhouse and when our boots haven’t been on, we’ve been cozied up inside, baking bread and drinking all the hot drinks. It’s been a magical winter week!
