Happy Friday! 10/16/26

Happy Friday! How are you? We are home! Getting here was a bit of an adventure - a second landing attempt, a dead electric car waiting for us at the airport, an unexpected night in Seattle, and somewhere north of 24 hours awake by the time all was said and done. 😅 But goodness, did it feel good to finally walk through our own front door. Sometimes an extended trip can make you see your house with fresh eyes, and this time, more than anything, I just felt grateful. I walked upstairs and it was warm and cozy and clean, the beds looked impossibly comfortable, and it all felt so completely ours. There was nowhere else I wanted to be. Travel is wonderful, but coming home is pretty great too. Wishing you a lovely weekend!

a few treasures I brought home from England :)

A few things that caught my eye this week:

The neuroscience of decluttering.

Oh my goodness, THIS is how you carve a pumpkin!

I shared all about our Cotswold Way trek this week including our itinerary, mileage, the kids’ experience, and all the beautiful old homes along the way (SO many beautiful houses). Britain really stole my heart :)

It’s candle season! I have this one in our bathroom and I swear it smells like a spa. Just having it sit there, unburnt, delights me every time I walk in. It’s the little luxuries, ya know?!

This beautiful pink home explodes with Goodwill Finds. Love the house and love the teamwork that goes into it: “Before Rob and I start a home project together, I must read one chapter out of a marriage therapy book. Doesn’t matter which one. Any will do.”

I watched this movie on the way home from London and cried like a baby. It is the most beautiful, moving film I’ve seen in a very long time.

Just ordered another pair of my go-to $50 jeans (this time in tall for warmer ankles in the winter). I wore my current pair all over England with my cutest running shoes and they definitely held up without much (okay, any) washing.

How to light your home like a Norwegian. “There is light that allows us to see, and light that makes you feel.”

Read this lovely novel this week after so many of you recommended it and LOVED it! It’s witty and fun and definitely scratching my England itch. The audio version is great.

Have a good one!
