Happy Friday 2/17/23

Happy Friday! How was your week? We spent much of the week siding the Poplar Cottage in the cutest cedar shake. We’re only about 1/50th the way done but I love it already. And goodness, there’s nothing quite like a little hard work and a good audio book (listened to on these little miracles of technology) to beat back the winter blues. I’ve come home every night ready to face-plant into bed, yet totally invigorated. It’s the best! Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Some fun links from the week…

A perfect beach house and it is only 500 square feet. Maybe, just maybe, its size is what makes it perfect!

The happiest NYC art that stopped me in my scrolling tracks. Is it real? Maybe? I don’t know and it is so fun that I don’t think I care.

Here’s why you should make a habit of having more fun.

The cutest inexpensive rattan lamps (that look way more expensive than they are).

I love a good crockpot soup recipe, especially from one of my favorite food bloggers.

The loneliest house in the world and ten other of the most remote homes in the world.

“I love you, but I don’t want to sleep with you.” Sleeping apart from your partner is more common than one might think, and for good reason… “Perhaps these couples have found the secret to domestic bliss: a room of one’s own. Everyone gets a better night’s sleep, undisturbed by a partner’s incessant snoring, penchant for blanket-stealing or devotion to late-night TikTok scrolling.”

Dreaming of weather warm enough to wear these!

It’s the ceilings and beams that really do it for me in this 1700s Hudson Valley remodel. Dreamy!

Devoured this book in two days. Part social-commentary, part futuristic fantasy, it’s one of the best books I’ve listened to in a long time (and narrated by Lucy Liu!). (amazon, indiebound)

Have a good one!
