Happy Friday 6/3/22

Happy Friday! This week sure flew by, didn’t it? Do you have any fun weekend plans? I’m looking forward to an empty calendar, some down time, and catching up on our mountain of laundry (if that doesn’t make me an adult, I don’t know what does ;). Hope you have a relaxing weekend!

This week I almost gave up on this vintage rug (it’s lived in our entry for 5 years and has gotten pretty stained), but I took it outside, sprinkled it with baking soda, vacuumed it, scrubbed it with soap, hosed it off, and let it dry in the sun. I’m 100% sure that’s not the right way to wash a vintage rug at home, but it seems to have worked ;)

Here are some links from the week…

Can you believe this is a basement?! It has me wishing I could go back 14 years and re-do our first basement remodel. (@hadleywiggins)

Go here, not there. Vacation alternatives for the budget-conscious. I’m very intrigued by the Hawaii alternatives! (nytimes)

Our favorite sources for vintage furniture and decor.

Have you watched any good shows lately? I have my eye on Under the Banner of Heaven - here’s the trailer. We don’t have Hulu but I’m thinking this show might be worth getting it for?! (YouTube)

I’m in LOVE with this Victorian kitchen renovation in London!!! That glass roof. The countertops. The walls of windows. It’s SO good. Especially since the layout is anything but an easy rectangle. (remodelista)

An ode to uncool skin care. I feel this struggle intently. (vogue)

Because we have all needed this from time to time: A recipe for just two giant chocolate chip cookies. (joythebaker)

A look through nearly a century of the Queen’s interiors and gardens. (houseandgarden)

Design editors favorite colors to decorate with. Loving the green and pink shades in here! (houseandhome)

Hope you have a good one!
