Happy Friday 8/15/25

Happy Friday! This week has reminded me of the simple, quiet joy that comes from just making things. Whether it’s sketching layouts for the Hill House remodel, making art with the kids (or just framing a print), or finally getting curtains up in the kitchen, the act of creating has been its own reward. There’s something deeply satisfying about giving yourself permission to create - to craft, sew, draw, build - and then watch as your ideas take shape in your home. Sometimes it’s not about what you make or how “finished” it is; it’s about the feeling you get while doing it.

Some inspiration from the week…

Inside John Derian’s magical Cape Cod House.

A 5-day creativity challenge from the Times. .

This bag is on my list for Fall. Brilliant, right?!

Listened to a great podcast for anyone who struggles with insomnia or just wants to sleep better this week.

Things that used to be worth the money but now feel like a complete and total scam. Do you agree?

This DIY shower door stopped me mid-scroll this week. What a brilliant idea!

The garden where Pamela Anderson found herself again. Love that she’s having a second act!

I’ve been on a bit of a hair journey this summer, ditching my blow dryer more often in favor of air-dry waves and trying to turn up the shine on my wiry grays. A few things that have helped: this hair towel, a fancy clean conditioner, and wet brushing with a wide tooth comb.

You can buy the Bennett's home from Pride and Prejudice (and if you do, please invite me over!).

4 ways to trick yourself into taking a walk. These would be fun with the kids too!

Currently on my nightstand (errrr audio book queue;).

Here’s to a weekend of ideas, hands-on joy, and creativity for its own sake!
