Happy Friday 10/17/25
Happy Friday! This week we woke up to our first frost - and suddenly Fall isn’t just a mood, it’s really, actually cold. Ha! The darker, chillier nights have us lighting candles, cozying up to watch the Mariners, and embracing an earlier bedtime routine. We swapped out our bedding for something a little heavier, and it seemed to make the whole house feel cozier. My best nights lately involve snuggling into our bed at 8:30 with the kids, reading for a bit, and then shooing them off to bed for lights out by 9:00 (mine included ;). It’s pure bliss! Wishing you a weekend full of warmth, soft blankets, and simple comforts.

How to add whimsy to your home. Love this!
Just switched back to this face sunscreen after trying a different popular product and I can confirm, this one is still my favorite.
This week we shared how we (aka my mom) made charming café curtains on a budget for the Poplar Cottage kitchen. My sister saw them in the background of a recent FaceTime call and immediately sent me look-a-like designer curtains that cost $400 (!!!).
How sweet is this 16th-century cottage?! The original beams and slanted ceilings are just so charming.
Garrett recommended this podcast about “why money doesn’t buy happiness in America” and it’s such a good listen!
A tribute to Diane Keaton. I just rewatched “Something’s Gotta Give” (a Nancy Meyer’s classic) and she is so lovely in it!
Gillian McAllister on the mess behind success.
My weekend plans: pumpkin bread!
“My parents sold my magical childhood home and I learned a lesson about closure I didn’t expect.” Gosh I can still remember the day my parents sold my childhood home some 20 years ago - it’s really hard to say goodbye!
A book rec for you… this novel begins with a mystery and I just couldn’t put it down (or the audio book equivalent). Felt like the perfect Fall read!
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
