Happy Friday 10/22/21

Happy Friday! How are you? I hope you’re enjoying this new season or at least hanging in there! I had to share how Brooks’ s’more birthday cake turned out from the other week because there are few things more joyful than sprinkles and a 6-year-old’s birthday! Plus I got to use a torch on the frosting and that was way too much fun! I used this recipe by the wonderful Molly Yeh and doubled it to make the 3-layer 9” cake. It was delicious…highly recommend!

Here are some fun links from the week…

An idyllic Swedish country home is restored to its former glory. I’d live here in a heartbeat! (myscandinavianhome)

The cruel paradox of Lina Evangelista’s fate. “Not only did this mishap force her to acknowledge that, yes, a woman in her 50s would need “help” to appear as slim as a fashion model of 25, it also spectacularly demonstrated, even performed, the internalization of artificial beauty culture.” (nytimes)

I’ve been on the hunt for a new cardigan and love this one (on sale!)! (jcrew affiliate)

A whole website dedicated on how long it’ll take you to read a book. Amen! (howlongtoread)

Speaking of books, I went back to the classics this week and listened to Pride and Prejudice again. There’s something so comforting about a book you’ve read and watched a million times, isn’t there?! (amazon affiliate, indiebound)

Carley’s sunroom stopped me mid-scroll this week. The pink couch! The art! The curtains! I love it all. (@carleypage)

On my fall bucket list: 6-ingredient spiced pumpkin butter. (halfbakedharvest)

This house is worth moving to Maine for!!! (@cheapoldhouses)

Did you catch our primary bathroom update this week? We’ve ordered tiles, decided how many sinks we’ll have, and are this close to putting it all back together!

Best thing on Instagram right now…watching Shalane Flanagan run 6 sub-3-hour marathons in 42 days. She only has one left! What amazing things our bodies can do. (@shalaneflanagan)

How a missing sock changed my life. This is the sweetest! (nytimes)

Hope you have a good one!
