Happy Friday 10/29/21

Happy Friday! Hi! How are you? I didn’t get around to putting a post together this week (mostly due to headaches at the Poplar Cottage and over-committing on kids activities) but we’re here together today and I’m excited to share some fun links with you! Any fun Halloween plans? We’re going to take the kids trick-or-treating in our little historic downtown today and I’m on the hunt for a fun kid-friendly Halloween movie for tonight (thinking Charlie Brown’s Great Pumpkin). I’ve never really been a Halloween person, but with young kids it sure is fun!

I ran across this Fall pic of our bedroom from two years ago and thought wow! our bedroom really did used to be clean and organized and didn’t have a bathtub in the corner or dressers of clothes in the windows and a giant hole to a construction site on the side. I guess you could say we’re to that point in our bathroom remodel where we just want it to be done so we can get back to being settled in our bedroom/closet/bathroom again. But we have a little way to go before we get there and thankfully we’re at the fun part where finishes are going back in! More on that soon.

Here are some fun links from the week…

WOW! I’d love to stay at this beautiful historic Airbnb in Germany! (remodelista)

I slip notes into my kids’ lunchboxes just like my mom did, too. (cupofjo)

My sister had on this flannel last weekend and I immediately ordered two. They’re such a great fit and on sale right now. (jcrew affiliate)

This completely charming kitchen stopped me mid-scroll this week. (@heidicaillierdesign)

“I couldn’t let my son’s allergies stand in the way of adventure.” (nytimes)

Inside a historic seaside mansion. According to the architect: “They loved the house for what it was and did not want to turn it into a newfangled thing, which was so refreshing. Everything that was new had to look old.” Could you live in a space so steeped in history? (architecgturaldigest)

Haha Chris Stapleton and Jimmy Fallon’s tribute to Nancy Meyer movies! (YouTube)

I love a good built-in hood vent (remember when we built this one at the Poplar Cottage?!) and this large-scale one from Jenna and Lucas does not disappoint! (jennasuedesign)

Garrett and I watched Dune last weekend and loved it! Here’s the trailer. (YouTube)

I picked up this book at the library this week and really enjoyed it. It’s a pretty light read! (amazon affiliate, indiebound)

Hope you have a good one!
