Another thrifted chair ;)

THE FARMHOUSE

My love for thrifting has no bounds, and it’s been in high gear lately. Floral chairs have been my main target. I’m not entirely sure why, but we need chairs in all of the bedrooms and flowers just feel right in this country home. Last week I found another chair, this time on Facebook Marketplace, and it found a home in Daphne’s bedroom…

psst: you can see my 2 other recent vintage chair purchases here and here.

What do you think? Too “grandma’s house”? (I mean that in the best possible way.) Or just the right amount? Like so many floral chairs, I’m in between “hmmmm I don’t think so” and pure adoration with this chair and that uncomfortable spot seems to be just right with floral chairs.

Here’s the listing. I searched “chair” and “floral chair” in my hunt.

Did you catch the price?! $50!!! There’s such a discrepancy in new and used furniture pricing. The chair is sturdy and high-quality and came by way of a home in Queen Anne, Seattle.

And yes, it would look great reupholstered some day, but I’m not buying these chairs for later, I’m buying them to use right now, as-is, so not to worry about stains and pulls, ya know? Perfect for a home with kids and animals and lots of country dirt. Plus the pattern sure seems to work well in Daphne’s room!

I gave the chair and ottoman a good vacuum when they made it home and then sprinkled a thick layer of baking soda on them and let it sit over night before vacuuming again. I’m not sure that actually does anything, but I like to think it helps with stains and smells and any bad memories the chair has ;)

Do you love it? Hate it? Somewhere in between?
