Happy Friday! 10/9/26
Happy Friday! We’re heading home from England today with tired legs and very full hearts. After hiking the 103-mile Cotswold Way as a family, we spent three lovely nights in Bath and goodness, what a place! It’s a UNESCO World Heritage city full of honey-colored stone, buildings more than 250 years old, winding streets, and layers of history (not to mention plenty of Bridgerton filming locations!). It was pure delight for these old-home-loving eyes. I’m excited to share a longer recap soon - including all the cozy inns we stayed at along the Cotswold Way plus our Bath Airbnb - but in the meantime, we’re heading home already wondering when we can come back :) Wishing you a lovely weekend!

A few things that caught my eye this week:
The dreadful decline of hosting at home: ‘I feel shame anytime a friend comes over’.
This stone cottage in Somerset is so charming.
Daphne and I wandered into a charity shop in Bath (like Good Will but they’re smaller and in posh areas) and I found a great black denim jacket like this one. Love a denim jacket for Fall.
This week we answered the question: should you buy a fixer upper? It’s something we get asked about a lot and boy do we have thoughts :)
We watched the new Young Sherlock series at our lovely Airbnb in Bath while recouping from our walk and everyone in our family loved it (here’s the preview). Can’t recommend it enough!
California prepares to ban quartz countertop production.
We saw lots of these old-school boots in England. I even saw a woman wearing a green pair at a viewpoint along the Cotswold Way with her jeans folded up once and it was a very cool look (wish I had snapped a photo)!
How two friends turned a Connecticut garage into a vintage-inspired barnhouse.
My oldest stole my kindle this week to read this novel, which Garrett recommended to him. Garrett tells me it’s a fun sci fi adventure (his favorite genre) that’s clean enough for kids and enjoyable for adults too.
Have a good one!
