Happy Friday! 4/17/26

Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? We’re in spring cleaning mode around here, airing things out, swapping clothes, and trading in heavier bedding for some lighter layers. I love living in a four-season climate, but it definitely keeps us on our toes this time of year! Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Hill House updates:

This week we shared 14 flush mount light fixtures that work for short ceilings. Our upstairs ceilings at the Hill House are just 7’ and I was shocked (shocked!) how hard it was to find beautiful lights we wouldn’t hit our heads on.

14 flush mount lights we love

that you won’t hit your head on ;)

A few things that caught my eye this week:

They grew up without smart phones, here’s how they live without them. About once a week I dream of doing this…

There’s something so cool about this 170-year-old rammed earth homestead.

6 words to tell yourself every morning. What a thoughtful podcast about getting dressed!

We just got a new coverlet for our bed and it’s vintage-inspired and made of organic cotton. I couldn’t love it anymore.

Leanne Ford’s take on design and life. “It feels like people are finally giving themselves permission to do their own thing. There’s space for personal taste again - for homes that feel individual instead of trend driven.”

What kind of shorts are we wearing this Spring/Summer? I’m looking for something with a hem and these corduroy ones are on my shortlist.

The enduring chicness of the ‘too many books’ aesthetic. I’m so here for this one!

Checked out this book from the library recently and loved it. Catherine Newman is so, so good!

Wishing you a lovely weekend.
