Happy Friday 7/24/20

Happy Friday! How was your week? Garrett and I spent a few days at the Dexter House this week on a ‘work getaway’, which was really just a kid-free, work-on-our-rentals-from-morning-until-bedtime type trip. But goodness it was just what we needed! It’s amazing how restorative a quiet cup of coffee can be 😉 Thanks for having the kids, Nana!

The tiny guest bedroom at Dexter (from 2016) has always been a favorite of mine, mostly because of the rope bed I found on Craigslist. Of all the vintage beds I’ve found (of which there have been many), this one is my favorite.

More from the week…

Laura Penton was kind enough to send me a copy of ‘The Little Book of Living Small’ and it’s awesome! Highly recommend it if you live in a small home or just love beautiful design and efficient spaces. (amazon affiliate, indiebound)

A lake house in Sweeden for $65k. Oh my! (cheapoldhouses)

The biases women face: double standards abound from the salary she earns to the unpaid labor she works. (nytimes)

In case your mom hasn’t sent you this: Dr. Anthony Fauci set to the tune of Hamilton. (thecut)

Love this kitchen!! Lauren Liess always nails the traditional-meets-nature look! (instagram)

Tour a 142-year-old Victorian in Rhode Island with the best historic details.

This made me smile: A wedding at home in Brooklyn. Also, I’m obsessed with the wall color (it’s spent 20 minutes scrolling through the comments and it’s BM Kensington Green). (cupofjo)

I’m currently reading ‘Little Fire Everywhere. It took me a couple tries to get into, but now that I did, I can hardly wait for bedtime! (amazon affiliate, indiebound)

Have a good weekend and stay safe!
