Happy Friday 10/24/25
Happy Friday! We didn’t get around to decorating our porch this year for fall, and honestly, I’m okay with it. Life’s been full lately (in the best kind of way!) with projects, sports, and all the family things. The kids carved pumpkins, so there’s still a little festive spirit out front, but the real action has been over at the Hill House: spray foam insulation upstairs, another inspection, picking planking and molding profiles (I’m so excited about this one!), and getting ready for the floor refinish. It’s an exciting season, indeed! Wishing you a cozy weekend with enough down time to squeeze in a Halloween movie or two :)
Some links from the week…
This week we shared the cedar shake siding reveal at the Poplar Cottage. It took 2 and a half years, but it sure is pretty :)
What true wealth looks like. “Money can make you happier, but only if you don’t care about it.”
The other day our 12-year-old came home from a friend’s house and said he had a new favorite game. We ordered it immediately and I have to say, it’s really fun (and perfect for the season)!
While all her friends went wild with wallpaper, this Londoner pared everything back. It’s stylish and cozy and “a very inviting home, despite the allergy to colour”, as one commenter put it.
Boden’s holiday sweaters are so good! It feels early to be talking about the holidays, but it is sweater weather, so…
Weekend plans: start the new season of Slow Horses. Have you started the show yet?! It’s deliciously sarcastic and dark with enough intrigue to keep you guessing. Highly recommend!
A guide to Rome. Have you been? It’s high on our family’s list (especially now that Alaska will be offering direct flights from Seattle!!).
Can you believe this Georgian-style home is actually brand new?! It’s so beautifully designed!
Just added this book to my library queue (it has a 24-week waitlist, so maybe this one’s worth buying). Reese Witherspoon is a co-writer on it and I have to say, I like her taste in books!
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
