A Tour of Our Garden at Night
THE FARMHOUSE
Now that we showed you what our garden looks like in the daytime, I thought it would be fun to take you on a tour at night. Being out here after the sun goes down is pure magic. The owls and frogs start their serenade, the stars shine so bright (as they only can away from the lights of the city), and itβs a perfect place to linger over a beer or cup of tea.

psst: you can get caught up on this space: planning the garden, the patio furniture, what the garden cost, and the reveal.
I photographed this space just before the summer equinox from about 8:30 to 9:15pm. And Iβm sharing the photos in the order I took them so you can get a feel for what itβs like in this garden as the light fades and dusk turns to night.
The only lights in this garden are these LED string lights, which we hung from steel cables (hoping to get a DIY post out soon). The LED bulbs offer a soft gold light, which is a lovely ambiance. Itβs not enough light for reading, but itβs perfect for a game of cribbage or a slow conversation with friends. We may add more lighting over the table if we find ourselves using it a lot at night, but weβll see.
Iβm also dreaming of a projector and screen out here for movie nights. Wouldnβt that be lovely? Of course we never stay up late enough to fit in a movie after dark, but it sure sounds funβ¦
Well thatβs the whole tour. Iβd love to hear what you think about this space. Or if youβd want more lighting in an outdoor living space.
